  1.   Jamie Goetzinger Says:

my ideal class would probably be: the teacher giving us nate sheets that we fill in the blanks, going a little slower in class so we can get into more detail, mixing classroom work with fun things sometimes, be offered extra credit, if any projects, preferably ones with partners and simple ones, and easy to understand worksheets. My history class last year (sorry couldn’t think of anyone this year/semester) was similar because Mr. Teacher would give is pages of notes and we would fill in the blanks onm ours while he had his prjector on. I like how in math class this year, we get extra credit often enough, and usually in english and religion we get to do fun things, especially in religion when we get to pair up with someone and make a poster sign in the class on what we just learned.

  2.   William T Says:

I believe the ideal classroom setting would be all of the desks in a circle around the classroom, so you could see what everyone was doing. Also for the work, you could make slideshows, and we could take notes from that. It kind of relates to my history class 5th hour, because we are doing the exact same thing I was driving earlier, apart from the desks being in a circle. We could also do games once a week to help each other understand what were reading. :)

  3.   Lauryn Huber Says:

My ideal classroom would probably very fun and have a good tone to it. Meaning lots of colors in the room! But not too much going on. Just enough to make the environment more joyful. Also a good learning environment involves alot of group things, for me. I like learning in groups and doing group activities. Also, note sheets where we fill in the blanks help me pay attention and focus on the topic. Presentations are also fun too! And review games to help me learn something better.
Probably my u.s. history class! The classroom is filled with poster of all sorts of colors and has pictures up. He teaches with a lot of notes but gets to the point. He also keeps the class entertained with games and stories to connect what we’re learning about! It’s a really fun class!

  4.   Joshua Hemphill Says:

My ideal classroom is one that has a a reasonable seating chart. It has to change every two weeks and be in an organized manner in which the students can both enjoy their classmates and learning enviornment as well. As far as the teacher I want one that is well balance. The teacher shouldn’t be too fun or too serious. Mrs. Meineke, you do an excellent job of being balance. The only difference is that we don’t switch desks as often as i would like.

  5.   lukas Says:

Hmm the ideal classroom setting… no rules really and complete randomness and craziness! I’m legit… thats how my brain works, I think of the most random things at the most random times! My favorite classroom activity would have to be debating/talking about a contraversial topic because thats what I do best and I love controversy! And as for the ideal teacher…. dang thats tough. ;D Oh wait… Mrs Meineke! Haha for real tho, Mrs Meineke is my favorite teacher this year!

One class I like is religion because it’s structured (DONT like that!) but the thing I really like is that were constantly doing things in it that keep us actively involved in the class.

  6.   Joe 1st Says:

My ideal classroom setting would have to be a relaxed classroom with coaches, bean bags, exercize balls, and a lot of windows, to enjoy God’s wonderful creation. My ideal classroom is kind of a mix my youth group room, the staff lounge at my work, and my old 6th grade classroom. I also would like if the class went outside for class more often, had field trips, and a hands on learning style to class rather than just having to sit in a desk going through slides on a projector, taking notes, or having a zombie like whole class recitation of a phrase in a foreign language. I would have the most chances of learning from a charismatic teacher who knows how us teenagers operate and also knows when he has to bring the hammer down, so to speak, and get cracking on the learning in class.

A realistic classroom in my schedule for this semester is a classroom full of hard composite wood chairs, a very tight bound strict order of how the desks must be arranged in the classroom, a overall cold and lifeless feeling in the room. It has a old outdated chalk boards with age and memories that date back further then I have been alive. This room has an outdated way of heat so that some days it feels very warm in the classroom and some days it feels colder than it is outside that same day. This picture of my tipical classroom is a far cry from my ideal classroom. There are only a feww things that my tipical classroom has that my ideal classroom has, those are the many windows, and somewhat a similarity in the teacher comparisons.

  7.   Casey Luckmann Says:

My ideal classroom is one where the atmosphere is fun and exciting but we still learn something. I don’t like it when the classroom is all fun adn games and it is very slow and you don’t really learn anything. I like it when there are fun games that we can do to learn and I like more group projects rather than tests and finals. I like to have fun but I like an organized classroom and structure. My ideal teacher would probably be a person that is really funny and makes me look forward to coming to their class each day no matter if I like that subject or not. The teacher has to be fun and joke around a lot but then also know when it is time to get down to business and get some work done.
The one class this year that I really enjoy is history. I am not a big fan of history but bringing it back to the teacher, the teacher can make a classroom funa nd exciting and that is exactly what my history teacher does. I love it!! We also do some individual work along with group projects and I like the happy medium there.

  8.   Armani Smith Says:

My ideal classroom is for all of the desks to be in a circle so it can feel more like a bondage. I would like to have fun learning exercises before we start class to have a good start of the day because it is first hour. Another ideal is to bring more color to the room a brighter environment is always a better environment!! (:

  9.   Armani Smith Says:

&&& We should get Bean Bags Just Sayinggg (:

  10.   LaTasha Says:

My ideal classrooom is one where we can pick where we sit every day. The room will have lots of color, with all of our projects displayed. Everyone would have an office chair, not just the teacher. I would want note sheets so that I would pay attention. An ideal teacher is one who has different teaching methods other than just giving us homework. The teacher would be funny and cool. So even if I’m tired I would WANT to pick my head up and listen. My ideal teacher would assign a final project rather than a written test.

  11.   Brenna K Says:

My ideal classroom setting is little to no talking while the teacher is talking but when we work you can talk quietly, but not a ton. That’s not the way that the class actually is. A normal class is loud on a normal day and even louder on a different day. I would like it if teachers took more control of their classroom.

  12.   Jamari russell Says:

My ideal class room would be more of a layed back class…were we get to sit anywere we want, I also would like to have debate about pop culture an things in that nature.

Religon, would be the most similar because we do get to debate and talk about alot of things..but we arent allowed to sit werever :(

  13.   Donald Mack Says:

My ideal classroom setting is everyone can sit where they want to. But you have to work not talk. They can choose what projects to do, read with a partner, and etc. They can have a comfortable office chair. Presentations can be anyway they want it to be. This way they can feel comfortable infront of everyone. Homework will be online like doing blogs about their intersets. The teacher will be cool, and outgoing. This is alittle similar for the homework part. But it is often people talking. It is only quiet when we read. People sometimes are mean to others. I feel we should treat eachother like family.

  14.   Angelina Morales Says:

An idealistic class is where the windows are always opened and the teacher seems to care if you successed in the class. Also the class is taught mostly by interesting lectures. Classes I have this semester usually have their windows open and the teachers usually seem like they care but when it comes to lectures. Most most of them aren’t that interesting.

  15.   JB Says:

for me a ideal class room is one that we can sit were we want and the teacher makes the learning more relivint to the studints.

in reality most teachers teach “outdated” info that we , the studints, cant relate to.

  16.   Mackenzie D Says:

My ideal classroom would consist of no rows of desks. I hate sitting in rows because it’s so boring. I like when teachers put the desks into a circle because It makes discussing topics easier and makes the atmosphere seem more “open”. Also, I’ve found I learn a lot better with visuals that help me understand. A powerpoint with notes or lots of examples would be very good for me. It also helps me when teachers are very clear on the assignment for the day. Saying the assignment at the end of the class as a reminder is very helpful because usually I forget when it’s said in the middle of class.

    •   Mackenzie D Says:

(I forgot to include this haha)
A realistic class for me this semester is not like this at all. We always sit in rows, and there aren’t many visuals besides occasional videos. Some teachers write the assignment on the board, and the ones who don’t always get late work from me because I forget what they said.

  17.   Caitlin Says:

I think that my ideal classroom setting would be where their is a certain level of friendship with the teacher, but where there is also a line and the teachers keeps things under control. I learn easiest when I feel relaxed and am able to enjoy myself. Also, I agree with Casey’s comment about the teacher playing a huge role in how I feel about coming to class. A nice, funny, but organized teacher I think is ideal. I think that the teacher has to be able to keep the students excited to go to class and learn. The teacher plays a big role in the atmosphere of a classroom, and for it to be a good atmosphere, the teacher needs to lighten the room, and make everyone enjoy themselves. For example, my history class is a good one. Everyone in the class doesn’t know everyone super well, but we all have a good time with each other. We always get our work done and learn, but we also have time to joke around and have fun with eachother.

  18.   Ally D. Says:

An ideal classroom would be students actually eager to learn. the students would be on time and prepared. Collecting homework wouldnt be a disappoinment. There wouldnt be chattering but only intelligent conversations going on with the permission of the teacher. The teacher wouldnt no who to call on to answer the question because so many hands would be raised eager to answer and share. Realistically students are often late. They dont want to be there and they’re not paying attention even if they are there. Cellphones are being used pointless and inappropriate conversations are going on. Cheating sometimes happens and homework is only turned in by the same studious students. I have numerous of classes that don’t match up with the “ideal” classroom.

  19.   mark boersma Says:

My ideal classroom would be less strict where you could sit where you want because I think it helps you learn better when you can work with who you want. I think it should be a class where you do a lot of stuff but if you work hard you can get an A. I also think we should not work the whole time becuase then you get sick of it and dont try as hard.

  20.   Mollie Says:

My ideal classroom setting would be having fun but at the same time learning. I like taking the notes where the teachers have fill in the blanks but that can get boring after a while so sometimes its nice to do something different. The teacher I think needs to make it fun and enjoyable for the class and a place where kids want to go. Teachers also need to interact with the kids more because i feel sometimes they dont. I like the my religion class because it is a lot of fun and we do a lot of activities that help us learn and we do a lot of group work so it makes it more fun than working by yourself

  21.   Nicolas Williams Says:

My ideal class is where there are cooperative students which are willing to learn, with their ears open and mouths closed unless permission has been granted. Also the teacher has some type of kynestetic learning material, most times teachers have either visual or audio learning material and that doesnt help everyone.
In the realistic class there is always talking and not enough listening because if there was, everyone would be passing. In this class most of all students are not doing enough to try to learn as well.

  22.   Faith Says:

My ideal classroom setting would be a nice welcoming class with desks in groups of four so you can sit with your friends. The type of activities would be any activity the class wants to do for the most part but, there should be activities for eveyone to enjoy not just one group of kids. For example, playing a jeopardy game to help review for a upcoming test. My ideal teacher would be a teacher who would let the kids do what they want for the most part. My realistic classroom setting would be somewhat like how you (Mrs.Meineke) set up your class. You have posters, things you like up, and students work that you admire. My ideal and the realistic setting somethat doesn’t match becasue i wouldn’t have the students work but, i would have what each student likes so they can feel even more comfortable in the classroom.

    •   mrsmeineke Says:

I love the idea about what the students like. How could we do that Faith? You can be my designer…hahaha

  23.   Angie Says:

The ideal classroom for me would have a small to medium amount of students and you wouldn’t have to sit in the same seat every day. I learn best when the class does group activities that are fun and also help review what we are studying. I like it when teachers don’t only teach at you, but ask for class opinions and input.
The small class sizes can be found in my math and history classes, and that works great because they are two of my hardest classes. It’s nice to get extra attention from the teacher because of the smaller number of students. In my history class, we don’t have assigned seats, and I like that because it makes it a more relaxed setting to learn. I like that in my English class, we don’t only learn the technical part of English, like grammar and things of that sort, but we also have had a lot of class discussions that have to do with issues in the literary works that we are studying. That really helps me get a good grasp on the book or concept that we are learning about.

  24.   DWHour1 Says:

My ideal classroom would be one where there is no seating chart, so you sit wherever you want. Also for the desk arrangement, I like it when the desks aren’t in the classic, boring straight rows facing the front. I like Mrs. Meineke’s class because it’s a sort of compromise. The desks have a general formation, are facing towards the front at an angle, and they aren’t set up in a boring uniform way. As for the chairs for the desks, I would like them to be Exercise balls. They would make fun chairs, and people couldn’t just fall asleep at their desk like they normally would. When it comes to a room and especially a building, it doesn’t matter what’s in it for the most part, its the teachers that matter. Teachers should be able to fill their classrooms with what matters to them along with things that pertain to the subject(s) they teach. In most classes where notes need to be taken, I think it would be nice to get a note sheet with the topics being discussed, with the teacher explaining each one on a projector. For English class, the projector thing applies when the need arises, and when you you get to Band and Choir, these things don’t matter at all. Before every test and/or quiz I think there should be an activity where the class does a review game, and whatever team wins gets some extra credit on the quiz/test. Also this would only be a twice a year thing, but if there’s a class that would be at the beginning or end of an exam day, I think you should be able to choose to have the exam before finals week because then you could come or leave school early those days. My ideal teacher would be someone like my World History teacher last year. He always had a positive attitude, he really connected with the students, and he made history fun for pretty much everyone. He decorated his room in the way I described. In fact, his way of teaching is a combination of what I want in a classroom setting and activities (minus the exercise ball seat idea).

A typical classroom in my schedule is pretty much what I don’t like. Five out of six of my classrooms have a boring seat setup (I’m not counting both of my band hours and P.E.). These classes also have the typical one piece desks (chair table and all). For the wood desks, you can see the abuse and damages they’ve taken over the years, and even with tables that I’m guessing are made of a stone/stone like material have several ink stains on them in many cases. Almost none of my classes are even close to my ideal class setting. The only class this semester that is like my ideal classroom is Mrs. Meineke’s class. Her class has an interesting desk arrangement, she’s covered her class walls with posters that show what interests her: running and God’s word. She also has some projects from her classes (drawings mainly), but these things were made as class activities. In the end, I guess the ideal classroom setting doesn’t matter as much as the great teachers I have at MLHS.

  25.   Jasmine Johnson Says:

My ideal class would have a lot of colors in it. Also there would be a 5 minute exercise corner so that the student can wake up and not fall asleep in class like my 6th grade Spanish class had. Also the teacher should assign the students to do a personal devotion so that there would be more class bonding. Also there should be student’s work all around the room to show how great the students are. Also debates should be required every week to allow the students to voice their opinions. Also if the teacher does not rush to teach something but instead makes sure that the students understand the information. I like in my Physics class that there are bouncy balls so I don’t get tired and we don’t just sit down the whole time, there are engaging things to do.

  26.   Titilayo Says:

The ideal classroom for me would be all desk neatly organized, notes or any activity that will be done in class already prepared, students giving full attention to the teacher. The teacher should at least go over everything twice, just in case a student might have missed out some important information that was given earlier.

My ideal classroom and a realistic classroom are completely opposite. The reason for that is because in a realistic classroom the desk would be disorganized, students and teachers sometimes are disorganized or not prepared, students never give teachers full attention at all times, because teenagers are very sneaky so most likely we are copying or doing work for another class or texting.

  27.   Rikyta Says:

An ideal class is where the students all listen to the teacher and every students does their homework all the time. The realistic class is not all the students complete their work on time or sometimes not at all. Also the students don’t always listen to the teacher. They even be disrespectful aand talk during the whole class.

  28.   RJB Says:

I grew up in a small school with small classes. Everyone knew each other. I incorporate this into my ideal classroom. I think that the teacher and students should be close. I don’t think that the traditional teacher-lecturing setting is quite effective; I believe that if we have fun in a classroom, we are more apt to be open to what is being taught.
Most of the classes I am in this semester consists of the teacher teaching and the students listening and taking notes. I think that more student participation would be better, because the sudent would feel more involved in the learning process.

  29.   Savanna Searcy Says:

My ideal classroom is a teacher who has their lessons planned out for the day ahead of time, giving us facts about what he/she is teaching us by taking notes, having whatever it is they are teaching tie into our lives, so that we can understand how it affects us. Quizzes, projects and maybe tests that shows our knowledge on the subject. Lastly, activities that involves the lesson, to keep us interested or at least familiar with the lesson. My religion teacher this year does a VERY good job of that. He has his lessons planned out for us, givees us notes, interacts with the whole class in different ways, gives us activities on the lessons and then tests our knowledge with quizzes. My ideal classroom came into relaity this year with that teacher.

  30.   Lauren Smith Says:

My ideal classroom would probably have a more relaxed setting. I usually work more efficiently in a laid back area, like when I’m doing homework at home. Classrooms are usually sterile and give off that “lifeless” kind of vibe that makes you intrested in doing other things (not pay attention, stare at that squirrel out the window, do other homework…). Another thing in my ideal classroom would be something like Jamie said about “interactive notes”. It makes you pay attention more when you have to fill in the blanks on your notes as your teacher teaches you at the same time.
My graphic design class is more on the relaxed side, since I can work at my own pace. In math, it’s easier to learn while taking notes since we have to solve problems at the same time. But in the rest of my classes, I’m really engaged in taking notes. In most of my classes, I feel like I’m just being told what to write down in my notes instead of actually learning about it.

  31.   LeNia Coleman Says:

Honestly, my ideal class is Mrs. Meineke… she takes time with us, she’s patient, she’s helpful, we can go to her for help, the work is overkill. But besides from that my ideal class would be a class that feels like my room, comfy, laid back, and you just do things at your own speed. That’s my idea of an ideal class.
A realistic class is basically how some of my classes are ran… the teachers barely stop to help, they’re not that patient, and the work is not “broken down” for us, and not much extra credit, so if you’re failing, you just fail. I mean not all classes are like that but majority are!

  32.   Stephanie R Says:

My ideal classroom is where we have “Real Talk”, do a couple of worksheets. Also when the teacher has the class planed and tells me what where going to be doing.

A Realistic classroom is where we listen to the teacher the whole time (BOREING) and notes on what there talking about and also where the kids mess around and some teachers just fly by the subject there talking about, and to me I feel that all we do is take notes listen and some people dont learn that way some people learn a lot of diffrent ways, i feel like teachers need to make there subject more interesting to get the kids attention and keep them listening.

  33.   Jordan J7th Says:

my idea for an ideal classroom is just to have fun no homework no tests no exams nothin lol just to have a blast with one another play games do a lot of different activities and just have a blast with one another. Help people out if they need help. Let people talk when they want and just all out have a good time. Now i know that NONE of that would ever happen but i can dream lol but yes the real classroom is just the way it is read as a class and honestly a lot of study guides would help as well because then we would be more prepared for things as well just saying but yes that is what i think of it when i see this.

  34.   griffin Says:

my ideal classroom would be no rules and you can sit whereever you want. games all day. no homework at all. no reading or anthing of that nature. have alot more real talk about sports and stuff.

realistic is sitting in class all day listening to the teacher talk. BORING!!!!!!. people mess around to much and never learn anything cause class is boring. teachers need to make class more enjoyable to keep kids pay attention.

  35.   Sheleah Says:

My ideal setting for a class room would be kind of like first hour english. We work well together as a whole we arent really bad. We dont get into argu, ments or throw things or talk excessivly. Also the teacher would help the students anwer questions beacuse last year i had a teacher who wouldnt answer question because she did NOT want to bebothered. As for activites they would be fun and educational. Like disscussions or wathching movies or allowing the students to have say in how they like the lesson so the teacher could see what he/she could to to make it a better enviornment.
My regular classes are pretty much the same except for some of the kids in some dont like to shut up, and im not sayin i am always queit but i do no when to enough is enough. I believe all my teacher offer help when and if needed. Only in my regular classes students dont have much say so in how they are taught what they are taught.

  36.   Cristin Jones Says:

My ideal classroom would be a class where we are allowed to choose where we sit, although sometimes that doesn’t work out because people choose to talk too much… I think it should be our choice. Also, my ideal classroom is more technology based. I would love for all students to have an iPad, or laptop and all of our notes/worksheets/assignements etc would be online.

A realistic classroom from my schedule would be assigned seats, with some freedom. But lots of worksheets and notes. Mainly powerpoints, or just plain old lecture type classes. A majority of my classes we start out with notes, then we’re given an assignment and then given work time where we can do our work.

  37.   Andrionna Says:

My ideal classroom would be like if we watched more videos on things because that is a great way of learning, in my opinion. When we’re doing projects, we could always work in groups or partners. Doing a lot of fun educational activities because I personally learn better that way. Another way is letting us pick our own seats. Oh, and the teacher shouldn’t automatically take half off assignments when they’re late.
A class this semester that is kind of similar to my ideal class is my yearbook class. Even though we only learn how to work the yearbook website in there, it is a lot of fun. We have to work with a lot of different people that we’ve probably never talked to in the school before. Overall; it is a great class to be a part of.

  38.   Jasmine Says:

My idea of an ideal class would be if we got to use our phone whenever, if we always did a lot of fun activities in groups, if we actually enjoyed comin to a class which no one does.
A class this semester that is similar to my ideal classroom is my english class because we do a lot of fun things and group activities in there and I just enjoy coming there when I know that we’re doing somethng fun.

  39.   JuliusG Says:

My ideal classroom is a class where I can have fun, but still learn something new everyday at the same time. I like classwork so maybe more classwork and not that much homework.

My regular classes are totally different. There are just some classes I really just never have looked foward too, and I never will look foward to them (not your class). Its just sometimes so much homework, tests and papers to do in some classes, it makes me not like themeven more.

  40.   kemora Says:

My ideal classroom would be a classroom with everyone participating, the teacher is actually fun and make class enjoyable, the teacher gives hands on assignments, and connects subjects to real life situations.
My classrooms now are boring. The teacher teaches what they write on the board, they teach it really fast, and expect you to get it the first time they go through it. (That’s if they even bother to explain anything). Then they get mad when you ask them to explain it more than once.

  41.   Peter Rios Says:

My ideal classroom would be a class that is fun and let’s the creative juices flow. It should overflow with activities that not only help you learn, but are fun and enjoyable. I think that if the classroom is decorated and made into a more comfortable enviorment it would be alot better and it would be easier to learn. When the teacher would teach things it WOULD NOT be monotone and they would teach it like they are eager to teach it.

My classes are really different. Some are more boring than others and I say it actually depends on the day and what you are learning that day. (All of my classes have had at least one day where it’s been fun.) Some teachers teach fast and some slow, some don’t even teach things on certain days.

  42.   Nicole Ellis Says:

My ideal classroom setting would have desk but we woukld have to sit in them if we didnt want to. Also some of our test and quizzes would be pral instead of us writing things down. We would learn in diffrent ways and not always writting and reading. Sometimes we would play games or talk out loud and things that help you remember what we are suppost tyo be learning. A realistic classroom is more like students walking in the classroom and sitting down in there desk. We would probably do something to get us started for class that involes writing and sit there and read and write.

  43.   Henry Bashiru Says:

I think the ideal classroom setting would have working materials things for students writing utensils work area like desks and tables.
classroom activities should have things were all students participate and take part in them.
sociology class is similar there are projects students work in groups and take part in and and a great work area.

  44.   Stephanie Rowell Says:

My ideal classroom is with all my friends and favorite teacher, and just having fun, but also learning. We have like a study hall everyday, and just party.

  45.   dajon weaver Says:

The ideal classroom to me is a class that explains the
assignments but instead of homework is done in class. After you finish your homework you get to enjoy yourself and eat snacks as long as you clean your mess.

I don’t have a class that is similar but their are classes that allow you to talk after the lesson is done being taught by the teacher but classes her do not allow you to eat snacks.

  46.   kailyn weaver naome Says:

I like how people explain to me one on one and having no

    homework
There is no class I have like this

  47.   gabriel albouras Says:

my ideal classroom would be were we wouldnt have assigned seat. my tearcher would be interesting. we would learn more visually and vocally then any other way because i hate learning by just giveing homework and told to just figure it out. it would also be nice if i could hear music while i work. the closest class room that i have is one were my teacher always keeps my interest and teaches more visually then vocally. althou it is not the same it is pretty close.

  48.   Dalton Says:

My ideal class would be a setting where we could sit where we wanted to or we could have the desks arranged in a circle. I also think it would be better to have powerpoint presentations sometimes because some things are easier to learn from being seen as opposed to being heard.

  49.   Jesse(Roberto) Soderbeck Says:

The best teacher is mrs. meineke, so thats already one thing down. Next the ideal classroom would have no assighned seats and we would be able to sit wherever we wanted. Lastly the ideal class would have certain days where we just played games, and had fun. otherwise, Spanish has been a fun class, as it is
